Our History
1996
Founded by Greg Whittaker
Founded in 1996 by Greg Whittaker, the company traded as KWAZULU PILING, specialising in the “niche” market of Piling and Geotechnical Works.
2004
KwaZulu Piling to MEGA PILE
Competing against 2 other companies in KZN, KwaZulu Piling’s hard work and perseverance helped the company evolve into the province’s “preferred piling contractor” by 2006. KZN Piling went on to service industry demands at a national level with the formation of MEGA PILE. By this stage, MEGA PILE was respected as a major player in the Piling and Geotechnical sector, covering Residential, Commercial, Marine and Special Works projects around South Africa and cross-border.
2006
Acquired by Sanyati Holdings
Sanyati Holdings acquired the company in December 2006, and SANYATI PILING & GEOTECHNICAL traded successfully until the dismantling of the holding company from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in June 2012.
2012
Mega Pile Re-Established
Mega Pile was re-established on 1 July 2012, taking over all existing property and personnel.
2016
