Erosion Control

Erosion is one of the main causes of slope instability and if control measures are not in place it can cause large scale failures of slopes or highwalls. Erosion control is a preventative measure and is recommended for areas with high average rainfall figures or areas with the potential for flash flooding.

  • Erosion control can be done by making use of geotextiles compounded with hydroseeding to form a natural-looking and environmentally friendly erosion control blanket over slope faces.
  • Other methods can include the application of shotcrete to form a ridged concrete overlay.
